  • The students is practicing the piano

Teaching piano is so much more than passing on knowledge. It’s a process filled with inspiration, creativity, and continuous growth — for both students and teachers. I know this from experience: I’m always on the lookout for new ways to make my lessons more engaging, flexible, and effective.

In this blog post, I’d love to share a selection of online resources that have become an essential part of my daily teaching. They help me grow professionally, expand my repertoire, and support my students in a meaningful way. And who knows — maybe some of them will become a valuable part of your teaching toolkit too.

    For Professional Development

    Webinars by Yula Platforma

One of the most valuable discoveries for me has been the webinars by the Yula Agency for Creative Professional Development. These aren’t just lectures or masterclasses — they’re thoughtfully designed training courses created specifically for piano teachers. The topics range from modern teaching methods to practical tools for working with students at various levels.

What’s especially important is that Yula is an officially recognized provider of professional development for educators. According to the national regulations, such services can be offered not only by public institutions but also by private organizations or entrepreneurs. This means that after completing a Yula webinar, you receive an official certificate that can be credited toward your teaching certification or professional growth portfolio.

    Inschool Hub Educational Platform

Another great resource is Inschool Hub, a modern educational platform designed especially for teachers who are committed to ongoing learning. It offers access to webinars, hands-on courses, and a supportive professional community full of inspiration and new ideas.

As an officially recognized provider of teacher training, Inschool Hub ensures the quality and relevance of its content. The certificates you receive from this platform can also be added to your professional portfolio.

Personally, I really appreciate how Inschool Hub focuses on relevant topics and soft skills, creating a space where you genuinely feel like growing. It’s a vision of the future of education — flexible, mindful, and truly inspiring.

    YouTube Channels for Piano Teachers

    Tonebase Piano

Among all the music-related YouTube channels I use, Tonebase Piano holds a special place. It’s a real treasure for piano educators and classical performers. The channel offers video lessons from renowned pianists and world-class educators who generously share their knowledge, technical approaches, and personal interpretations.

Tonebase Piano is more than just a collection of videos — it's part of a large educational platform featuring thousands of lessons, weekly live workshops, intensive programs, and a supportive professional community. What I particularly value is the opportunity to hear different perspectives on interpreting the same piece — it enriches my teaching toolkit and brings new ideas into the classroom.

    Muzylo

The YouTube channel Muzylo, created by teacher and musician Artem Lyakhovych, is a great example of how real teaching experience can be shared through video. The channel features masterclasses and real lesson recordings, making it especially useful for piano teachers and educators in other music disciplines.

    Royalman Kyiv

Royalman Kyiv, led by pianist and teacher Ihor Riabov, is a valuable source of piano masterclasses for those looking to dive deeper into the art of performance. Ihor shares detailed insights on interpreting specific pieces, focusing on technical nuances, expressiveness, and artistic interpretation.

In addition to repertoire analysis, the channel also offers short courses on piano training, covering technique, ear development, musical thinking, and performance readiness. Everything is delivered in a clear, structured way and with great passion for the profession.

    Materials for Working with Students

Piano lessons aren’t just about technique and notes. They’re also about play, movement, rhythm, singing, and creating an environment where children enjoy discovering music. Sometimes, a well-chosen activity or video can bring new energy to a lesson, make it more dynamic, and help engage students on a deeper level.

    Muzychna Studiia” YouTube Channel

The "Muzychna Studiia" YouTube channel, created by Solomiya Slobodyanyk, is a real gem for those working with children. It offers interactive activities, rhythm exercises, songs, warm-ups, and educational videos that can be easily integrated into your lessons. The content is original, heartfelt, and created with true passion for teaching.

What I especially appreciate is Solomiya’s approach — she avoids standard, templated programs and constantly invents something new for her students. This channel is perfect for teachers who enjoy experimenting and want to inspire children through music. Music with the Dunlops Music with the Dunlops is a channel filled with short music videos that can be used during lessons as interactive activities or energizing breaks. You’ll find fun formats like Body Percussion and lyric videos (Ode to Joy, Come to Play), all presented in a light, engaging, and child-friendly way. A great tool for keeping lessons lively and focused.

    Musicca Exercises

Musicca is a user-friendly online platform offering free exercises for ear training, rhythm practice, and music theory. It’s suitable for students of different ages and helps them recognize notes, intervals, chords, scales, and keys — and practice writing and playing them. The interface is interactive, simple, and highly effective, making it a great way to diversify the theory part of your lessons.

Helpful Instagram Accounts for Inspiration and Practice

Instagram isn’t just for photos — it’s also a great space for discovering creative teaching ideas. Many educators use the platform to share original resources, games, teaching tips, and tools that genuinely work in the classroom. Here are a few profiles worth following:

    • @alona_chorna_piano — online piano lessons, games, and original materials for children aged 4 and up. Alona describes herself as an “inventional teacher” with over 12 years of experience.
    • @music.teacher.help — ready-to-use music teaching materials, practical tips, and consultations for educators. Includes a shop with downloadable resources.
    • @iryna_tarasevych_art_from_h — interactive games and printable resources on various music topics, already trusted by 400+ teachers.

These resources have become an essential part of my everyday teaching practice. They help me keep lessons fresh, support my professional growth, and create an engaging experience for students. I truly hope they’ll be useful for you too — no matter your experience level or teaching style.

Save them, try them out in your classroom, and share with your colleagues! Together, we’re shaping a music education that’s modern, meaningful, and truly inspiring for our students.
